Anoop Nautiyal

Anoop Nautiyal : Founder Chairperson

Anoop Nautiyal is a social and corporate leader with global, national and state experience in government and for–profit sectors. He is well known for his participative and integrity driven leadership style with a high degree of passion for improving lives and giving back to society.

Anoop has extensive experience in successfully establishing operations of size and scale in the state of Uttarakhand. He has worked very closely with the state government while leading the 108 emergency services in PPP mode as its founder Chief Operating Officer.

Anoop has worked abroad for a decade in Hong-Kong, Indonesia and Bangladesh and was the Country Manager-India for Swedish clothing giant H&M (Hennes and Mauritz). He studied in Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), Delhi University and the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), New Delhi. Anoop is a prolific columnist, writing for state and national media on development and governance issues.

Ashutosh Kandwal

Ashutosh Kandwal : Co-Founder

After receiving a PG diploma in Personnel Management and Industrial Relations as well as Computer Applications and Programming, Ashutosh has dedicated his career to the development, health and social sector. He has successfully led and managed several initiatives for international aid organization such as Futures Group International in Uttarakhand, through various USAID funded projects. These include projects on HIV/AIDS, National Programs like RCH/NRHM and PPP initiatives under Innovations in Family Planning Services. Ashutosh has also played an important role in the process of drafting the Health and Population Policy 2013 for the state of Uttarakhand.

Apart from the above initiatives, Ashutosh has had a rich career in devising public health strategies and extending technical support in implementing PPP strategies in coordination with the government and ground level agencies. Starting his career with a regional NGO, he went on to work with state level network organizations in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand like Volunatry Health Organizations, the Uttarakhand State Health Department and the international development agency, Futures Group International.

Prerna-Raturi

Prerna Raturi : Sustainable Development and Community Outreach

Prerna Raturi is an independent writer and editor with two decades of experience in print and digital media. She contributes to publications such as the Business Standard, DNA, Outlook, Open, Fast track, and others. Known for simplifying the complex and translating jargon in easy-to-understand language, Prerna leans in for issues such as gender equality, and the pressing problems of deforestation, migration, and sustainable tourism in the hill state of Uttarakhand.

As a co-founder of Sustainable Green Initiative, a social enterprise which plants fruit trees in community lands to alleviate hunger, poverty, and climate change; Prerna is actively involved in strategizing tree planting projects and reaching out to beneficiaries at the grassroots.

Prerna has also worked with Action India, a Delhi-based feminist NGO and has produced two books – one on the girl child and another on AIDS/HIV awareness among youth. She has a Masters degree in English literature from Kirori Mal College, Delhi University.

Rishabh Shrivastava : Policy Analyst and Digital Editor

Rishabh Shrivastava is an entrepreneur and a law student from the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Dehra Dun. He is also Editor-In-Chief of The Analysis, a media website which is dedicated for providing unbiased and propaganda free news. Apart from his role at Gati as a Policy Researcher, Rishabh is also serving as President of a Bhopal based research think-tank, Hari Kamal Foundation for policy research which focuses on the issues of environment, energy, politics and governance.

Rishabh also looks after data and social media analytics. He has been part of various national and international magazines, journals and digital portals. Rishabh is a keen political observer and public policy enthusiast. He has on-ground as well as policy research experience on vast number of developmental issues including solid waste management, menstrual hygiene, renewable energy, climate change, law and policy.

Dr. Rimant Gupta : Medical & Public Health Specialist

Dr. Rimant Gupta has completed his MBBS from Karnataka University, Dharwad in 1998. He also holds two Post Graduate certificates, one in Pediatrics and the second one in Chest and Tuberculosis.  Apart from his association with Gati, Dr. Gupta is engaged with the New Forest Hospital at the Forest Research Institute, Dehradun.

Dr. Gupta has a diversified medical background having worked with a vast variety of patients. He has worked in the deep, rural areas of the state and has had stints with the government run urban primary health centres. Dr. Gupta has led a large team of doctors and technicians at the 108 emergency services in Uttarakhand, championing the medical training programs for the police, doctors and the community at large. At heart, he is an avid advocate of efficient public health practices.

Dr. Gupta has been associated with various campaigns undertaken by Gati Foundation. He has recently mentored an exhaustive report titled “Air Pollution and its impact on Human Health in Uttarakhand”. This is one of the first ever reports of this nature to have come out in the public domain.

Sachin Juyal : Alliances and Partnerships

Sachin Juyal is an entrepreneur who studied at the University of Wales in the United Kingdom. Armed with an MBA with specialization in Finance, Sachin has had an accomplished track record primarily in the areas of business development and corporate management.

Sachin’s passion for the outdoors and the Himalayan region led to the establishment of Camp Dogadda, an experiential outdoor campsite in Himalayan Uttarakhand. As its Co-Founder, he takes responsibility for the income generation and integration of rural, hill communities living within close proximity to the Camp. Sachin is determined to add value to Gati Foundation by facilitating partnerships with global and national organizations working within the social space.

Pyare Lal: Community Outreach Associate

Pyare Lal : Community Outreach Associate

Pyare Lal is a community outreach associate at Gati. Born and brought up in Chinyalisaur in the distant district of Uttarkashi, Pyare brings the native knowledge and local experience to the team. He has completed a two year Diploma Program in Computer Hardware Networking. Pyare has worked for more than five years as a Service Engineer with Wep Solutions, the printing business arm of Wipro Limited.

Pyare has been associated with Gati since its inception. Prior to Gati, he has been a part of various citizen centric campaigns advocating improved services for impoverished communities. Apart from his responsibilities at Gati, Pyare is working on an ambitious organic farming project with villagers in his home district.

Aman Kandwal : Youth Connect and Campaigns

Aman is a student of Computer Science Engineering from DIT University, Dehra Dun. He has been a part of several youth-based organizations like AIESEC, Entrepreneurship Cell and Camp Dogadda. Aman believes in developing positive and spirited youth leadership. He is a core believer of teamwork and discipline. His contributions have been recognized at both national and global levels. Aman completed a successful two-month internship program with a Vietnam based company, Vina Groups, focusing on Sustainable Business Development.

Apart from being an outstanding public speaker, Aman has a good command over designing and graphic development tools. He has been coordinating a large number of design-based projects for the Foundation. He loves traveling, as it enables him to learn about various facets of society and culture.

Pallav Purohit

Pallav Purohit

A post-graduate from Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University in Uttarakhand, Pallav is a research scholar at the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) in Laxenburg. With air pollution, energy, climate change and renewable energy as his interests, Purohit joined the institute’s Air Quality and Greenhouse Gases Program as a research scholar in 2007. Prior to joining IIASA, he worked as a postdoctoral research fellow on international climate policy at Hamburg Institute of International Economics, Germany.

An associate editor for the International Journal of Global Energy Issues and editorial member of Sustainability Journal, Purohit has also been a visiting faculty member to the Institute of Political Science at the University of Zurich, Switzerland, visiting fellow at the School of International Development, University of East Anglia, UK and Council of Energy, Environment and Water, New Delhi. A post-graduate in Physics, Purohit did his PhD in Energy Policy and Planning from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.

Dr neha Gupta

Dr Neha Gupta

Dr. Neha Gupta is from the first batch of qualified Infectious Diseases (ID) specialists in India. She has vast global experience in diagnosis and management of fever and infections across various specialities and is an expert in antibiotics and antifungal drugs.

Dr. Gupta is an MD in General Medicine from Barkatullah University, Bhopal and has further trained in Infectious Diseases from P. D. Hinduja National Hospital and Research Centre, Mumbai, CMC Vellore and Wayne State University, Detroit. She has a Certificate in Achievement from John Hopkin’s University USA & HIV MAI.

Dr. Gupta had the opportunity to establish the Department of Infectious Diseases in the Medanta-The Medicity, Delhi NCR. She has authored several books and has publications in prestigious journals. Dr. Gupta is an executive committee member of Clinical Infectious Diseases Society (CIDS) of India.

Krishan Singh Rautela

Krishan Singh Rautela

Krishan Singh Rautela is a development and infrastructure professional with long experience of government investments and global trade sectors. He has worked extensively with ADB, Government of Uttarakhand, Department of Economic Affairs (GOI) and UNCTAD. Krishan has deep experience in various sectors like Urban Development, Health, Agriculture, Education and Transport; having designed countless projects in the PPP domain. He is also associated with the Sustainable Development Forum Uttarakhand and Integrated Mountain Initiative and is contributing to the development agenda of the Indian mountain states.

Krishan has a Masters degree in International Business from Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, Delhi and a Bachelors degree in Computer Science Technology from University of Roorkee.

Richa Saklani

Richa Dwivedi

Richa Dwivedi is the Managing Director for Stoodnt, Inc – a California based Career and College Guidance firm – in India. With over 10 years in the field, Richa has worked with leading institutes like Ashoka University, Vasant Valley School, The Heritage School, Inventure Academy, The Welham Boys and many other educational institutions.

Richa is is the author of The Ultimate Guide to 21st Century Careers published by Hachette India recently. An IIM Ahmedabad and St Stephens College alumnus, Richa graduated in Economics and worked with ANZ Grindlays bank and CNBC India as a stock analyst before starting off on her own. She is an accredited MBTI trainer and well versed in several psychometric tools.

Dr-Dwarika-Prasad-Uniyal

Dr. Dwarika Prasad Uniyal

Dr. Uniyal is a professor and dean at the FLAME School of Business, FLAME University – Pune. He also serves as an Independent Director of Braithwaite & Co Ltd, Ministry of Railways. Dr Uniyal has been the Founding Dean (Academic) of Jindal Global Business School, O P Jindal Global University. In an academic career spread over twenty years, he has served as a faculty member in premier B-schools such as S P Jain Institute of Management and Research, Mumbai; SPJGSM, Dubai-Singapore; and Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad.

Dr Uniyal was invited by Govt. of India to serve as Professor of Management in India’s premier Academy LBSNAA, Mussoorie to train India’s civil servants. He has also conducted international programs at Harvard Business School, USA, and Carleton University, Canada. Dr Uniyal has co-authored the bestselling book Managing Retailing, published by Oxford University Press.

Udisha Saklani

Udisha Saklani

Udisha Saklani is a doctoral student at the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom. She has more than five years of experience in the water and energy sector and worked as a Policy Consultant with the UNDP India office and the Institute of Water Policy, National University of Singapore. Her interests lie in the field of public policy, governance reforms, and development cooperation. Some of her past projects include studying the role of the private sector in water service delivery, socio-economic impacts of big infrastructure projects, and perceptions on drinking recycled water in Singapore and Africa. She has a strong research background and has published her work on national and international platforms, including high-impact academic journals such as Energy Policy.

Udisha has a Master’s Degree in Public Policy (MPP) from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore and a Bachelor (Hons) degree in Mathematics from St.Stephen’s College, University of Delhi.
