A post-graduate from Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University in Uttarakhand, Pallav is a research scholar at the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) in Laxenburg. With air pollution, energy, climate change and renewable energy as his interests, Purohit joined the institute’s Air Quality and Greenhouse Gases Program as a research scholar in 2007. Prior to joining IIASA, he worked as a postdoctoral research fellow on international climate policy at Hamburg Institute of International Economics, Germany.
An associate editor for the International Journal of Global Energy Issues and editorial member of Sustainability Journal, Purohit has also been a visiting faculty member to the Institute of Political Science at the University of Zurich, Switzerland, visiting fellow at the School of International Development, University of East Anglia, UK and Council of Energy, Environment and Water, New Delhi. A post-graduate in Physics, Purohit did his PhD in Energy Policy and Planning from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.
